Brown Butter Old Fashioned
“Brown butter whiskey brown butter fudge.”
Ingredients:
750 mL Evan Williams Bottled in Bond Whiskey
(you can use any whiskey, but this is our favorite)
4 oz Butter
125 mL Water
2 oz Angostura Bitters
125 mL Demerara syrup*
Instructions:
1. Heat butter over medium-high heat until it starts to brown and give off a rich aroma.
2. Pour bourbon into a 1L airtight container & add the browned butter. Shake vigorously.
3. Place in freezer and leave for 4-5 hours or until the butter is completely solid.
4. Strain through cheesecloth until all solids are removed.
5. Add the remaining ingredients and serve over ice with a Convenient Cocktail Orange wheel. Enjoy!
Suggested Garnish:
*Demerara Syrup:
Place a small saucepan over medium-low heat.
Pour in 2 cups of Demerara sugar. Do NOT substitute white or brown sugar. Trust us, it’s worth it!
Pour in 1 cup of hot water, stirring continuously until the sugar completely dissolves.
Let cool, then transfer into an airtight container and use as needed in your favorite cocktails for extra sweetness and body!
